Beaconsfield tree trimming planned
West Tamar Council and TasNetworks contractors will undertake their bi-annual tree trimming program in Beaconsfield in the coming weeks.
A number of plane trees along the West Tamar Highway on the entrance to Beaconsfield will be trimmed back to provide the necessary safety clearance under powerlines.
The pruning will consist of pollarding back to previous cuts, making the trees symmetrical in shape.
Council has engaged the contractor to trim the plane trees on the opposite side of the road to maintain visual consistency between all the trees in the area.
Plane trees generally require trimming every two years however this is subject to the amount of growth they experience.
The contractors will be on site for approximately four hours. A final date for the pruning is expected to be announced in the coming days.
