Grants and Awards

Each year Council provides funding to community groups through its Australia Day, Community and AED Grants Programs.

Australia Day and Volunteer Recognition Awards are a great way to recognise and reward individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year, and/or give an outstanding service across a number of years to the community, over and above normal employment duties.

Business Grants

Our Business Grants are now open!

The West Tamar Council’s Grants Program provides funding for projects that demonstrate clear evidence of engagement, involvement, and economic benefit.

Applications for the program open on October 1, 2024, or until the funding pool is exhausted. Funding will be allocated on a ‘first-in’ basis, so applicants are responsible for ensuring their application is received by the council before the closing date and time.

Business Grants are available up to value of $2500.

Funding Requirements:

  • For grants up to $1000, applicants are not required to contribute financially to the project but must provide in-kind contributions. Evidence of these contributions must be included in the application.
  • For grants ranging from $1000 to $2500 applicants must contribute at least 10% of the overall project cost, either from their own funds or from a confirmed external funding source (excluding in-kind contributions).

Applicants are required to contact the Community Services Team on 6323 9200 to discuss eligibility and an overview of their project before applying.
